Filtration Weight Determination

Filter weight determination is a method of determining the weight of solid content of canned food in canned products. The contents of the canister are poured onto a standard screen and the filling liquid in the can is filtered. The weight of the remaining canned contents is measured. In other words, the filtration weight in canned food is the ratio of the canned content to the net weight.

The determination of filter weight is not for canned food such as tomato paste and jam, but for canned foods containing solid particles. With this method, it is determined whether the amount of food contained in the tin can conform to the standards. The published standards represent the percentage of foodstuffs placed in the can in the net weight.

Filtration weight determination is also among the analyzes performed in the authorized laboratories within the scope of physical analyzes. During these studies, the standards published by local and foreign organizations and the test methods and test criteria that are valid all over the world are complied with.
