Dermatological Analysis

Dermatology is a branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases. In the eighteenth century, it was suspected that syphilis on the skin and syphilis were considered as a sub-branch of internal diseases. However, on the advances in medicine in the nineteenth century, dermatology was accepted as a separate branch of medicine. In the twentieth century it became an independent branch of medicine as a contemporary dermatology science.

Dermatological disorders, also known as skin diseases, are the following: psoriasis, acne, acne and dandruff-like sebaceous gland diseases, Behçet's disease, allergic skin diseases and HPV, which is a very common sexual disorder nowadays, mouth and vaginal cancer).

Dermatologists can also be listed as follows:

  • Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of skin cancers and skin disorders
  • Psoriasis, acne, eczema, skin infections, hair and nail diseases
  • Problems due to the use of cosmetic products on the skin

Because cosmetic products are used directly on the skin and are effective on the skin, it is extremely important that they are effective, stable and safe. Therefore, it is necessary to test and analyze the reactions caused by contact with the skin.

Deodorants, moisturizers, make-up materials, shampoos, hair dyes, toothpastes, oral care products, soap and hand washing gels that are commonly used and offered to consumers, especially those containing alcohol and triclosan in its formula, can cause allergies.

The reactions of cosmetic products on the skin are manifested mainly in two different ways: allergic or irritant. In the event of an allergy, the skin reacts to a chemical contained in the cosmetic product. It shows an allergic reaction in every contact with the substance. This may be short-lived or continue for as long as the product is used. Sometimes the skin may react to a number of irritants that do not come from the immune system and come into contact with the skin from the outside. This is the case with 70 in skin disorders.

According to the results of the research, the main cosmetic products that cause skin irritation are: skin care products 25 percent, hair preparations 24 percent, facial makeup products 11 percent, nail preparations percent 8, perfumes percent 7, personal cleansing products 4 percent, eye makeup products percent 4.

Skin analyzes are performed to determine whether the skin is dry, oily or mixed, to analyze acne, blackheads, aging, sun damage, water loss, and similar conditions, thereby shedding light on the necessary treatment.

In addition, various tests are conducted on healthy volunteers under the supervision of specialist doctors to understand the reactions caused by cosmetic products. This test method is called dermatological test (patch test). With the latest legal changes, cosmetic products are no longer tested on animals. The main purpose of the dermatological test is to pre-test the reactions of the cosmetic products on the skin according to the directives of the European Union.

It is very important that dermatological analyzes are performed by accredited laboratories from national or international accreditation bodies. Because these laboratories are accredited in accordance with the standard requirements of TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. In addition, TS EN ISO 22716 Cosmetics - Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) - adheres to the guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices.

In addition to these standards, accredited laboratories comply with various standards developed by domestic and foreign organizations in accordance with the cosmetic products tested and analyzed.

In addition, the laboratories performing dermatological analyzes should use the latest technology equipment and test devices, apply the most accepted test methods and have an experienced and trained staff for the results to be high quality, reliable and fast.
