Total Acidity determination
Acids are mainly substances that give ions when they form a solution with water. Acids give hydrogen ions to their aqueous solutions. Soaps, deodorants, cleaning agents and detergents used in daily life are acidic products. Authorized laboratories Tests, measurements and analyzes are performed to determine acidity degrees and total acidity values.
To understand the degree of acidic or basicity of a solution, the pH of the solution is checked. There is a relationship between the acidity and alkalinity of the solution and the pH scale. If the pH of a solution is greater than seven, that solution is acidic, if less than seven, it is basic.
Accredited laboratories, which are accredited in accordance with TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Qualification of Testing and Calibration Laboratories, which are national and international accreditation organizations, comply with test methods, test criteria and standards accepted worldwide. These laboratories are based on many standards developed by domestic and foreign organizations and provide reliable and impartial service.
Standards for the determination of total acidity within the scope of physical and chemical analysis of detergents are as follows:
- TS 5177 Industrial hydrochloric acid - Determination of total acidity - Titrimetric method
This standard covers the determination of total acidity of hydrochloric acid used in industry by titrimetric method.
- TS 13411 Toilet cleaning agent
This standard covers the definition, properties, sampling, control and testing of toilet cleaners and the conditions for their release to the market. This standard includes acidity in detergents, phosphoric acid determination, hydrochloric acid determination and similar analyzes.
- TS 10679 2-Aminonaphthalene - 1-Sulfonic acid (tobias acid)
This standard also covers the determination of acidity in detergents.
- TS 54 Soap
This standard covers cleaning agents of all forms, the main ingredient of which is soap.
