Flammability Benchmarks
Most textile products are organic based. As such, the combustion property is very high. Since industrialization is rapidly developing, mass settlement areas are growing and technology increases, fire risks have increased and nowadays it is inevitable that textile products have heat and flame protection properties.
The fireproof fabrics used in the textile industry exhibit a high degree of resistance to heat and abrasion and are not scary in terms of cost. In terms of both weaving and usage, these fabrics are comfortable and reliable and at the same time very easy to apply.
High heat resistant fireproof fabrics are used in many industries where safety must be maintained at the highest level. Electrical insulation is very good, does not hold too much dust and there are many types of weaving.
For these fabrics which are produced with different properties according to their usage areas, very different flammability tests are required. These tests are carried out in the competent laboratories:
- Furniture tests
- Flammability of composite materials for seating
- Flammability of flame sources of composites for seating
