Jewelery is a product which has been created by using a number of technical possibilities and craftsmanship and has functional usage possibilities. They are made of various materials such as stone, bone, leather, metal or rope and complement the clothing as ornaments. Jewelry varies according to the material used in its production. In addition to the ones of animal origin, a number of precious or worthless stones are made of jewelry. Jewelry made of leather also occupies an important place in the textile sector. These ornaments, while complementing the garments, increase the elegance of the ladies and reflect the style of the people who use them. It is important to use the right jewelry and accessories in the right place and in the right way.

But there is another point that is important. Leather jewelry and accessories, in particular, are products that come into direct contact with the skin and this may cause health problems in some cases.

As it is known, numerous physical, chemical, biological and fastness tests are carried out in the authorized laboratories for leather products in the textile sector. What these test and analysis studies have in common is that textile products do not pose a danger to human health, but at the same time reassure consumers of the quality and reliability of these products.

The chemicals used in dyestuffs, especially used in leather jewelry, are absorbed by the skin and accumulate in various organs in the body and threaten human health. Therefore, for example, some restrictions have been imposed on the production, use and import of azo dyes in our country. In this context, the use of certain amines in the production of dyes is prohibited.

In the laboratories, many tests such as prohibited azo dyes, pH value, chromium (VI), formaldehyde, extractable heavy metals or water dropping fastness are performed for leather jewelry and accessories. During these tests, legal regulations and standards published by domestic and foreign organizations are complied with.
