Curtain Tests

Curtains are one of the most produced products in the textile sector. Drapery and upholstery fabrics have a serious production capacity. Curtain fabrics can be cotton, linen, satin, polyester viscose, tulle and taffeta fabrics. A wide range of production is carried out in this textile sub-sector according to usage areas and people's tastes.

Although the amount of home textile exports of our country is ups and downs from time to time, home textiles are generally one of the sectors with the highest foreign trade surplus. Towels and bathrobes are the headlines of home textile products, followed by bed linen and drapery and upholstery groups. The share of curtain and upholstery fabrics is close to 20 percent.

Textile products are mostly exported to European Union countries. On average, 1 billion dollars are exported to these countries every year. Considering how selective the quality of European Union countries is, the great power of the textile sector is obvious.

The most important factor that ensures the quality of curtain fabrics is to comply with the standards published by domestic and foreign organizations and to perform curtain tests at authorized laboratories at various stages of production.

Authorized laboratories carry out these tests accredited by national or international accreditation organizations within the framework of TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 standards and apply accepted test methods worldwide.

Among these tests, the most common tests are: non-flammability test with a small flame application in vertically placed fabrics and fabric combinations, determination of the ignition property of vertical test specimens, measurement of flame propagation properties of vertical test specimens, determination of spreading properties, determination of combustion properties of curtains and classification scheme, combustion requirements for curtain fabrics, determination of hall curtains and combustion properties of curtains.
