The rapid development and diffusion of technology makes life easier, but on the other hand brings many unrecognized risks. Significant advances, particularly in the field of chemistry, create a number of health hazards whose effects are not yet fully understood. From this point of view, it is of great importance to control the chemicals used in stationery materials.

Azo dyes, which are widely used in various sectors, have been found to cause cancer and textile products, garments and leather products produced with azo dyes have been banned in some European countries. The Ministry of Health issued a communiqué on the issue that some aryl amines and azo dyes containing these substances, when used in the dyeing of textile products, are generally classified as carcinogenic substances and that these substances are not suitable and prohibited for human health. has decided. A list of said aryl amines and the azo dyes containing them is also included in the annex.

Azo dyes, which are mainly root dyes, were replaced by synthetic dyes. These synthetic dyes are widely used in stationery products.

Since the year 1995 in our country, the production and use of azo dyes is prohibited. However, imports of azo dyestuffs with a value below 30 ppm are free. However, according to world standards, the maximum 20 ppm azo dyestuffs should be used in textile products.

Dangerous chemicals found in these skin contact products are absorbed by the surface of the skin and enter the body and accumulate in some organs. Health problems begin with the increase of this accumulation. Stationery products pose a danger to the health of school-age children as well as office workers.

The tests of the stationery products in the authorized laboratories are carried out in accordance with the current regulations and related standards.
