It creates customer satisfaction which is essential in all fields of activity in the textile sector. Production that satisfies customers is the first priority for all textile companies. The customer satisfaction of textile products depends on the quality and safety tests of the produced products and the approval of the results. The said tests shall be carried out in accordance with the test criteria, test methods and standards determined and published by domestic and foreign organizations. Otherwise, it cannot be said that the test results are reliable, quality and acceptable.

Many laboratories in Turkey and abroad are accredited by national or international accreditation organizations in accordance with the standards of TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. Only in this way can the laboratories prove that they operate reliably and impartially.

In these laboratories, a large number of tests, measurements, analyzes and evaluations are generally carried out under the following headings:

  • Physical tests
  • Fastness tests
  • Flammability tests
  • Chemical and ecological tests
  • Microbiology tests

Physical tests are carried out to determine the physical properties of textile products. For example, tensile strength, tear strength, abrasion resistance, fabric hardness determination, yarn strength, water vapor permeability, air permeability and stain repellency.

Fastness tests are carried out to determine the fastness properties of textile products. For example, real washing, dry cleaning, sweat, moisture, rubbing, sea water, pool water, color fastness to dye transfer, color fastness to steam.

Flammability tests are carried out in order to determine the flammability properties of textile products. For example, the burning test of garment fabrics, the ignitability of upholstery fabrics with cigarettes, the ignition behavior of flame sources, the burning behavior of children's bed clothes, the burning behavior of nightwear, the burning property of garment fabrics, the burning test for curtain fabrics and window blinds, the surface burnability of carpets and rugs. .

Chemical and ecological tests are carried out to determine the chemical and ecological properties of textile products. For example, toxic heavy metals, total lead content, cadmium determination in plastics, banned azo dyes, carcinogenic dyes, fiber count, moisture content, biocides, banned azo dyes for polyester mixtures.

Microbiology tests are carried out to determine the microbiological properties of textile products. For example, determination of antibacterial activity, determination of antifungal activity, determination of antifungal in plastics, mold resistance test of leather products.

Apart from these, more specific textile tests are performed in authorized laboratories. The main tests performed in this way are shown in the table below.

Specific Tests

As mentioned above, having these tests performed in terms of being strong and competitive in textile markets inside and outside the country gives enterprises an important advantage.
