PH value

It is known that if a pH of a liquid is less than seven, the liquid is acidic and if it is high, the liquid is alkaline water. Therefore, pH value of water is very important. The pH of the water indicates the amount of hydrogen mixed with the water. The pH value of the water in the soil generally varies between 6 and 8.5. Water with low pH value is corrosive as it is acidic.

The pH value of the water varies according to the source of water. The more basic the water, the more resistant it is to acidic factors that can change its chemistry. Water useful for the human body is basic water. Human metbolism is constantly striving to maintain the pH balance. When the body becomes alkaline, it works more smoothly. Stress, excessive exercise, infection and various diseases create an acidic environment in the body. All metabolic processes of the body depend on the pH balance. This balance is in the range of 7.35 to 7.45. So a healthy body has to be acidic. If the pH balance is impaired, the cells cannot take the necessary food and convert nutrients into energy. As a result, the cells become weak, the tissues become weak and various disorders begin to emerge.

The pH value of the water used in the production of textile products is also important in this regard and accredited laboratories, chemical and ecological tests, in order to determine the pH value of water used in the production of textile tests and analysis studies are also made. These studies are based on the following standards:

  • TS 477 EN 1413 Tekstil - Determination of pH value of aqueous extract
  • TS EN ISO 3071 Textile - Determination of pH value in aqueous extract
  • TS 3560 Textile - Cotton satin fabric - Specifications
  • BS EN 1413 Tekstil - Determination of pH value of aqueous extract
  • AATCC Test Method 81 Determination of pH value of aqueous extract in wet processed textiles
