Disperse dyes are generally commercially available in liquid or powder form. The powdered form contains some dispersing agent and wetting agent. Those in liquid form are in the form of ready dispersion.

Polyester fibers exhibit a high degree of deterioration and escape from water. Therefore, hydrophilic dyes are not suitable for polyester textile products. In addition, a small amount of dye can be absorbed in conventional dyeings, since large molecule dyestuffs do not readily penetrate into the fiber. For this reason, dispersion dyes are the leading dyestuffs that can be used for coloring polyester materials.

Disperse dyes are dyes that are poorly soluble in water and are generally applied in aqueous dispersions. Vapors of disperse dyes are also strongly absorbed by hydrophobic fibers. This is the basis for printing with disperse dyes, especially in printing processes.

The fastness of disperse dyes is quite high. Highly resistant to washing. In addition, abrasion and light fastness is very strong. On the other hand, their thermal fastness is somewhat problematic as they can sublimate.

In terms of human health, caution should be exercised in the use of dyes. For this purpose, companies have to have their products tested with allergic disperse dyestuffs.

Among the chemical and ecological tests carried out in the laboratories accredited within the scope of TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard from domestic or foreign accreditation organizations, tests are carried out to determine the amount of allergic disperse dyestuffs in textile products. These studies are based on the following standards:
