Washing Fastness

In the textile industry, fastness values of dyed or printed textile products have always been important. Moreover, today it has become even more important to create customer satisfaction. Naturally, however, it is not possible to determine how suitable the textile products are for the purpose, in other words the quality of the products with a single measure. Therefore, in order to prove the quality of the product, it is necessary to measure and analyze a number of properties which are related to the quality indirectly. It is necessary that a textile product has to be accurately measured the design, color, aesthetics, washing and similar properties and give the results as a numerical size. Only then can these features be incorporated into the concept of quality.

In addition, textile manufacturers need qualified, diligent, developing and changing employees who follow and adapt to this technology. In this way, production can be made in accordance with the legal regulations and developed domestic and foreign standards.

In fastness controls, although the companies do some tests and analyzes in their own premises, the essential tests are to be performed in accredited authorized laboratories. These laboratories are accredited and accredited by national or international accreditation bodies in accordance with the standards of TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.

Washing fastness is carried out in order to determine how much color change of textile products after washing and how much they contaminate other fabrics during washing. The washing fastness of the product is evaluated by applying the washing temperature specified in the standard to the fiber mixture in the weaving:

  • TS EN ISO 105-C06 Textiles - Color fastness tests - Part C06: Color fastness to domestic and commercial washing

Washing fastness tests are carried out on special machines and under certain conditions and the test results are evaluated with gray scale in the light cabinet.
