The fastness tests are carried out to determine whether the dyes in textile products which are printed or dyed under the influence of color undergo various effects, or if they are dyed to other adjacent textile products.

In color fastness tests against dye transfer carried out by authorized laboratories, the following standards are observed:

  • JIS L 0854 Test methods for color fastness and sublimation in storage

This standard specifies test methods for determining color fastness to sublimation in the storage process of dyed textile products.

In order for the result reports of the tests carried out by the authorized laboratories to be accepted internationally, the laboratories performing these tests must be impartial, reliable, technically equipped and functioning properly. Besides, the tests to be carried out must be carried out in accordance with the required standards and test methods.

Therefore, these laboratories perform these activities accredited on the basis of their authorization from national or international accreditation bodies in accordance with the standards of TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. This accreditation practice is crucial in taking laboratories seriously in terms of objectivity, competence and reliability.

In the quality control tests of products exported abroad, especially in European Union countries, DIN (German Standards Institute), BS (British Standards), EN (European Union Standards) and similar standards as well as ISO (International Standards Organization) standards are used. ASTM and AATCC standards are used for quality control tests of products exported to the USA. In our country, Turkish Standards Institute has rearranged many of the standards related to textile products to meet EN and ISO standards. In this way, TSE became available internationally.
