Finishing processes in the textile sector are the processes that make up the last stage of the finishing process and affect the usage, attitude and appearance properties of the textile product and give new features to these products. In general, finishing processes are carried out after bleaching of products to be used as white and dyeing or printing processes for products to be used as color. For example, cotton is the most produced fiber in the world and used in textile. It is used in many different fields. It requires different usage characteristics according to each usage area. Therefore, the finishing process of a cotton fabric to be used for a raincoat and a fabric to be made a shirt is also different.

The finishes applied to cotton yarn, cotton woven and cotton knitting products can be grouped into two groups: chemical finishing (wet finishing) and mechanical finishing (dry finishing). Chemical finishes are finishing processes that contain more chemicals such as dirt repellent finish, softening finish, flame retardant finish, wrinkle finish and anti-microbial finish. Mechanical finishes are finishing processes that are effected by mechanical means such as sanding or raising.

Dirt repellent finish, also called stain repellent finish, is an application that provides ease of maintenance to fabrics. Textile products are provided with more difficult contamination and easy removal of dirt from the surface.

Dirt repellent finishing is also known in the textile industry as stain repellent or stain repellent finishing.

For physical tests performed in accredited laboratories, standards issued by local and foreign organizations are complied with. In this context, the following standard is taken into consideration in stain-proofing tests: AATCC 130 TM130 Dirt-proofing: Oily stain removal method.

All laboratories are required to use state-of-the-art equipment and equipment in order to obtain quality, fast and reliable results. It is also important to have a strong technological infrastructure and an experienced and trained staff.
