Modern people's healthy lifestyle requires regular sporting outdoors, adequate rest, proper diet and effective skin care. Having a healthy, well-groomed and beautiful skin has always increased people's self-confidence and positively affected their physical and mental health. In fact cosmetics does not mean beauty alone, it also means healthy living, hygiene and care.

In the cosmetics industry, the elements with a density greater than 5 grams / centimeter cubes are called heavy metals. Heavy metals show vital and non-vital effects according to their degree of participation in biological processes. Heavy metals with vital effects must be present in a certain concentration in the structure of the organism. In other words, if they are in high doses, it affects human health negatively. For example, lead is a soft but heavy metal and can be easily processed. Lead is the metal most damaging to human metabolism and ecological system. Lead into blood is spread to organs and especially to the bones. It dissolves over time, destroying the kidneys and damaging the brain and nervous system. Cadmium, another heavy metal, has lead-like properties in terms of health risks.

According to the Cosmetic Regulation issued by the Ministry of Health, a limitation of 0,6 in lead hair coloration has been imposed. Cadmium is not approved for use in any cosmetic product.

The use of heavy metals in cosmetic products is limited in other countries. Chemists are working to develop formulas that will not adversely affect human health instead of such chemicals.

On the one hand, legal regulations and on the other hand, the standards issued by domestic and foreign organizations, some restrictions on the use of heavy metals in the production of cosmetics. Authorized laboratories comply with these limitations in their heavy metal analysis within the scope of physical and chemical analysis.
