As a result of exposure to noise in the working environments, the physical and mental health of the employees deteriorates and there is no peace and quiet. It is a legal obligation for employers to take and implement the necessary measures to prevent noise. The Regulation on the Protection of Employees from Noise-Related Risks issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in 2013 requires this obligation.

In accordance with this regulation, employers are required to take the necessary precautions to protect them from health and safety risks and especially hearing-related risks due to exposure to noise in the workplace.

Employers request services from national or international accreditation bodies and accredited laboratories in accordance with TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories. Accredited laboratories carry out the necessary tests, measurements, analyzes and evaluations using internationally accepted methods and based on the relevant standards published by national or international organizations.

Using the data obtained during these studies, it determines the noise exposure levels of employees and prepares noise maps and acoustic report and environmental noise level assessment report for the enterprise. Noise maps and the reports mentioned show more clearly and in detail the level of exposure of workers to noise and their harmful effects on their health. Taking these results into consideration, employers have to make and implement action plans to avoid noise or reduce their impact.

While preparing noise maps, measurements are made in machines and benches used in the workplaces, noise level curves are drawn and details are revealed with the grid method. In this way, enterprises can see the points exposed to intense noise more easily and take more accurate measures.
