Bacterial Culture

Bacterial culture in microbiology is a method of developing microorganisms, bacteria and other biological assets. The best example of this is the cultivation of edible mushrooms in special environments. In addition, bacterial replication is performed to detect the bacteria causing diseases in laboratory studies. In microbiology, bacterial culture is the most widely used method to diagnose infectious diseases and to determine the ways of treatment. In this method, bacterial samples taken from the infection site are reproduced, examined and identified in appropriate media.

Bacteria are single-celled microscopic organisms. It is considered a different living category among plants and animals. Numerous bacteria live in nature, soil, water, air, animals, plants and humans.

The importance of bacteria for human life stems from the species that cause disease. Various diseases occur depending on the type and number of bacteria entering the body and the immune ability of the living organism. Generally, some bacteria cause diseases with the toxic substances they secrete. These toxic substances secreted by bacteria are called exotoxins. If these substances are found in the bacterial cell structure, they are called endotoxins. Bacteria settle in different places in the body depending on their species. For example, streptococci settle in the throat, staphylococci settle on the skin, tuberculosis and pneumonia settle in the lungs and cause various diseases.

Microbiology examining bacteria is called bacteriology. All kinds of physical and chemical factors that kill bacteria during laboratory studies or by live metabiloism are called bactericides. Bacterial culture method is used in order to recognize the bacteria causing diseases in living organisms and to develop treatment methods.

Bacterial culture studies in foodstuffs are carried out in advanced laboratories within the framework of microbiological analyzes. During these studies, the relevant legal regulations and standards and test methods issued by domestic and foreign organizations are complied with.
