Food packaging applications show a great improvement. The packaging of a food is a very important factor affecting the quality, appearance and shelf life of the product. At the same time, hygiene and safety of foodstuffs are ensured by packaging. Choosing an unsuitable packaging for a food product, as it cannot protect the product in a healthy way, causes the food to lose its properties, causing chemical, physical and microbiological degradation of the food. This situation, which threatens food safety, is also a danger to consumer health.

The companies producing packaging have to produce suitable packaging that can come into contact with the food, and the enterprises producing food have to choose the appropriate packaging for the food products and follow the quality control processes. It is therefore of utmost importance that the packages are tested at frequent intervals.

In 2010, Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Substances and Materials in Contact with Food was issued by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock. This regulation contains the principles for the production, processing and distribution of materials and materials which are in direct or indirect contact with food or which may be in contact with the food, in a manner that will not harm human health and considering consumer needs.

Extraction is the process of separating the organic matter in a solution with the aid of another organic solvent which dissolves but does not mix with the solvent in the solution. In authorized laboratories, 95 percent ethyl alcohol extraction is also carried out in fractional studies that can be extracted maximum within the scope of chemical tests. These studies comply with the standards published by national and international organizations and test methods accepted worldwide.
