I amprolium analysis (Forage Ön Mixtures)

Amprolium Analysis (in feed pre-mixes)
Amprolium Analysis (in feed pre-mixes)

The European Union requires feed producers to confirm whether or not any medicinal substances are mixed in the feeds by the competent authorities. The drug residues should be at the lowest level in drug-supplemented feeds. Otherwise, when such residues are released at high levels, they are toxic to human health.

To this end, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock issued the Regulation on Sampling and Analysis Methods for Official Control of Feed and published analysis methods to be used to control the composition of feedstuffs and compound feeds based on this regulation. These methods include the determination of amprolium. This method is used to determine the level of amprolium in feed and premixes. The sample taken during the analysis is extracted with a mixture of water and methanol and diluted with the mobile phase followed by filtration through the membrane. The amprolium content is then determined by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). This device uses an infrared detector.

Amprolium is an additive that is added to feed and water used for the purpose of coccidiosis control in animals. Coccidiosis is a type of disease that causes gastrointestinal infections caused by microorganisms in animals.

In animals fed with feed containing amprolium, this substance accumulates in the heart, kidney, kidney oil, liver and brain and primarily damages animal health.

Amprolium analyzes are conducted in authorized laboratories, feed pre-mixes within the scope of chemical tests and the standards published by domestic and foreign institutions and test methods and test criteria accepted worldwide are complied with. The systematic and scientific studies carried out in laboratories provide more reliable and unbiased service and the reports they prepare are accepted all over the world.
