The Bisphenol A compound is a monomer used to assist in the polymerization of plastics with other chemicals. Polycarbonates, a type of plastic, are transparent materials with light transmittance close to glass, suitable for heat and chemicals, high impact and scratch resistance and very suitable for packaging of foodstuffs. It is widely used in the food industry in the production of beverage bottles, plates and storage containers and baby nutrition products. Bisphenol A compound is used in polycarbonate products to give a high quality transparent appearance besides hardness.

In animal studies conducted by the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Food Safety Organization (EFSA), bisphenol A is a chemical compound with a high level of risk to human health. Therefore, these organizations recommend the use of glass products instead of polycarbonate baby products.

Due to these developments, the use of bisphenol A compound in baby products in European Union countries is prohibited. Likewise, the definition of the Turkish Food Codex as a baby in the Communiqués of the Baby Food Formulas and the Turkish Food Codex according to the provisions of the Communiqué No: 2013 / 34) issued by the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock in Turkey. polycarbonate materials cannot be used in products used for the consumer group.

In the advanced laboratories, plastic materials and materials to be used for children and bisphenol A analyzes are performed in polycarbonate type plastics. These analyzes are based on standards published by domestic and foreign organizations. The standard used in this respect is:
