The Ministry of Health has issued a Regulation on Health Principles for Swimming Pools in 2011. The objectives of this Regulation are as follows:

  • Indoor and outdoor swimming pools used for swimming purposes and water to comply with hygienic conditions
  • Determination of quality standards of swimming pool waters
  • Monitoring and monitoring of swimming pools

Pool water analyzes are carried out in accordance with the principles of this regulation. The chemical properties (Annex 1), physical properties (Annex 2) and microbiological characteristics (Annex 3) of the swimming pool waters are given in the annexes of the regulation and the inspections to be performed by the Provincial Health Directorates check whether the pool waters are in compliance with the values ​​specified in the regulation.

In the regulation, chemical, physical and microbiological characteristics and frequency of analysis of pool waters, sampling, transportation and analysis laboratories, operation of swimming pool, operation of children's swimming pool, physical spaces, security measures, supervision, monitoring of unsuitable pool water, disinfection and pool chemicals.

Within the scope of chemical properties, pH, ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, cyanuric acid, copper, aluminum, total alkalinity, hydrogen peroxide, bound chlorine, indoor pool water free chlorine and outdoor pool water free values ​​are analyzed.

Within the scope of physical properties, the color, turbidity and temperature values ​​of the pool water are analyzed.

In terms of microbiological characteristics, total colony count, total coliform bacteria, E. coli and pseudomonas aeruginosa values ​​are analyzed.

In the annex of the Regulation titled cak Analyzes to be carried out by the operator Ek (Annex 4), the analysis frequency and limit values ​​(minimum and maximum) of the analyzes required by accredited laboratories are given.

 

The laboratories must be accredited by national and international accreditation bodies as well as meeting the requirements set out in the aforementioned regulation.
